RULES

 

0. Fill in the the "Country" field in your team profile. We need it to invite the team to the finals if you qualify.
1. Communication throughout the CTF will be via Discord. For all ground truths regarding challenges and questions join the discord and ask an organizer.
2. For the qualifying event team and finals team size is limited to 7 people.
3. Each team is only allowed to participate under one name.
4. All flags must be in this form: brics+{}, unless the contrary is stated.
5. If you are sure your flag is true, but our system does not accept it, inform us via Discord.
6. All teams are required to have fun and follow fair play principles.

 

❌ The following behaviors will lead to disqualification:

 

Any destructive behavior
Don't attack the contest system itself. Don't delete flags. Don't break services (if you find a bug, please report it to organizers). Don't generate excessive load.

Any behavior that compromises the fairness of contest
Don't fake the location of your team. Don't register multiple accounts. Don't share flags or ask for flags. Don't publish challenge files, solutions or flags.

 

QUOTAS

 

BRICS CTF welcomes participation from academic and professional teams worldwide.
Qualification for the final round is as follows:

1. The top 15 teams from BRICS countries will qualify, with a maximum of 3 teams per country.

2. The 10 highest-ranking teams overall, regardless of their country of origin, will also advance to the final.

Teams aiming to qualify under the BRICS quota must verify their eligibility before the final round via email to [email protected].

This verification process requires submitting a scanned copy of an official document proving their country of residence, such as:
– A student ID
– A passport
– Any other official document that clearly demonstrates the team members are from the claimed BRICS country.

This verification ensures fair representation and adherence to the competition's goals.

Standoff 365 special round: STANDOFF RED TEAM SCENARIOS

 

A special round featuring tasks by Standoff 365 for the top 200 teams of the BRICS+ CTF qualification round.

Standoff 365 provides a cyberrange where pentesters and security experts from all over the world can join forces and experience the thrill of hyperrealistic cyberattacks.

Specially for BRICS+ CTF participants, Standoff 365 has prepared realistic challenges called Standoff red team scenarios.
For the competition, actual company infrastructure is re-created so that cybersecurity specialists can test their skills by interacting with real-life technologies and business processes.

 

The special round will take place from November 11 to November 13, 2024.
Start: November 11, 2024, at 12:00 UTC+3
End: November 13, 2024, at 23:59 UTC+3
The results will be announced on November 14.

 

Why take part?
• A prize pool of 1 mln rubles for the top 5 teams , converted to the currency of the winning team's country
• Certificates for all participants who tackle Standoff red team scenarios

Who can take part?
• Criterion #1. The top 190 teams from the qualification round, excluding Russian teams, that have completed at least one task are invited to participate.
• Criterion #2. Special spots are reserved for the top 10 Russian teams from the qualification round.
• If there are not enough teams that meet criterion #1, other teams will be invited to participate.
• The organizers reserve the right to deviate from these criteria to invite teams that, in their opinion, have distinguished themselves during the qualification round.

 

The Standoff 365 special round will be held on the standoff365.com platform. (Each participant needs to have their own account.)
All invited participants will receive an email with registration and access details by 18:00 UTC+3 on October 7, 2024.
Participants will also get access to a dedicated channel on the Standoff 365 Discord server for easy communication with the organizers. An invitation link with instructions will be included in the email.
